River Clean Up
University of Limerick Kayak Club are organizing a River Clean Up, in association with An Taisce’s National Spring Clean initiative. It would be great if you could publicize this fantastic voluntary initiative on your radio station.
The Event will take place next Saturday the 13th of April, at 10.00am at the UL Boathouse.
Will will be removing rubbish and flood debris from the section of the Shannon River that flows through the University of Limerick Campus.
This event is open to the public and we are hoping to get as many people involved in this initiative as possible.

River Rescue Training
Next Thursday the 11/4/2013. ULKC will be having a river rescue training night in the UL Arena Pool at 9.30. The training is open to all members and is highly recommended for anyone going on this summers Alps Trip. The list of skill that will be thought can be seen below;

Details of our anual Alps Trip can be found in our Trips Section.
Every year ULKC venture to the amazing and scenic Italian and Slovenian Alps for some great rivers, sun, and banter. The trip is open to all members competent and confident on moving water or at a level three standard. This promises to be a great trip and expect your paddling to come on leaps and bounds over the course of the trip. The cost of the trip is provisionally between €450-€600. ULKC Win Best Club and Best Event and the UL Clubs and Societies Ball.
ULKC won Best Club of the Year and Best Club Event of the Year for organizing the 2013 Kayak Inter-Varsities. The presentation took place at the annual UL Club and Societies Awards Ball last Thursday the 21st of March. This is the second year in a row that the club has won the the Best Club Event of the Year award. This is and outstanding achievement to win both awards in the same year and well done to all the committee and members for making the 2012/2013 such a remarkable year for the cub.

Level 3 Assesment
Well done to our new level three kayakers. Jack, Luke and Mark all passed their level three assessment today with Mike Jones from the UL Activity Centre and Simon McCormack (trainee instructor) on the Castleconnell.
